Aimpoint Pro vs. Eotech EXPS2 – How do they compare?

Optical Features and Characteristics

As mentioned earlier, one of a scope’s most outstanding features, at least for me, is versatility. Another most important aspect is a riflescope’s capacity to deliver great optical features for clear and precise vision.

Looking at the Aimpoint Pro, you are going to discover that it has a 38mm objective lens which gives a pleasantly wide field of view. In addition, this objective lens is made entirely of high quality glass, making it quite hardy. The lens boasts multiple layers, a characteristic that enhances and facilitates superior light transfer so that your vision is crisp and clear at all times. Seeing that too much light could be potentially harmful, it also features anti-glare filming to keep your eyes protected. Additionally, it is a parallax free tool that also offers unlimited eye relief so that, no matter where your eye is located behind the scope, you get to enjoy superior and accurate vision.

When it comes to the Eotech EXPS2, this scope presents a 22mm objective lens which has a significantly narrower field of view. However, it is also constructed using superior glass that features multiple layers, working to maximize light transfer for good visuals all the time. Just like the Aimpoint Pro, the Eotech EXPS2 is made to be parallax free and to offer unlimited eye relief. This assures you that target acquisition is going to be quick and precise no matter where your scope is located on the rifle.

The Aimpoint Pro outdoes the Eotech EXPS2 by a large margin since it presents a 38mm objective lens which gives a significantly wider field of view.

 Overall Performance

When it comes to versatility and performance, both the Aimpoint Pro and Eotech EXPS 2 deliver great features.

With a 2 MOA red dot, the Aimpoint Pro makes a better scope for short and mid range shooting. This dot size means that the scope covers an area of about 2 inches on the target when you are aiming from a distance of about100 yards. When it comes to brightness, you will gain access to up to 10 brightness settings for using at any time of day or night. 6 of these brightness settings are ideal for using during the day while 4 of them are compatible with night vision so that, no matter the time of day or night, you can enjoy pin-point accuracy on your target with ease.

On the other hand, the Eotech EXPS 2 presents a 1 MOA red dot and a 68 MOA circle. With this, you can be able to make a choice of three visual options. You can use the dot on its own, the circle and dot together or the circle alone. For brightness, this riflescope presents a total of 20 brightness settings, but they are all ideal for use during the day. This means that the Eotech EXPS2 does not make an ideal scope for using in the cover of dark.

Since the Aimpoint Pro is able to support night vision, offering 4 brightness settings for this purpose, it outdoes the Eotech EXPS2 in this regard.

To be able to handle extremely harsh conditions, a scope must feature a strong build, and the Eotech EXPS2 and Aimpoint Pro do not disappoint.

The Aimpoint Pro is a ruggedized riflescope made from anodized aluminum, a material that is both light and strong. This gives it the capacity to handle extremely harsh conditions, taking on impact with grace and prowess. In addition, it is a waterproof device that can be used in extremely wet regions, and it also has anti-foggingproperties. It is a rugged tool that comes with a threaded front lens opening that allows you to screw on an ARD. Additionally, it features a transparent lens cap that allows you to see even when covered.

The Eotech EXPS2 is made using aircraft grade aluminum which bears a good deal of strength and lightness. Just like the Aimpoint Pro, this device is fully water and fog proof, meaning that it is possible for you to use it in extremely harsh environments. It can also handle a good deal of impact and recoil, keeping the lens from shattering. When it comes to general looks, this tool is a more reserved riflescope than the Aimpoint Pro.

Since the Aimpoint Pro has a more rugged and practical scope look, it outdoes the Eotech EXPS2 in this regard.

Battery Life

With a 30,000 hours long battery life, the Aimpoint Pro sets itself apart as an incredibly reliable riflescope that can be used for years without needing battery replacement.

The Eotech EXPS2 lags behind in this regard, delivering just 1,000 hours of battery life.

The Aimpoint Pro presents a significantly longer battery life, making it a better scope than the Eotech EXPS2.
