Holosun HS403B vs. Holosun HS403R – How do they differ?

Optic features and Characteristics

The Holosun HS403B is a riflescope that is made for use on carbine and rifle applications. It comes with an objective lens made using high quality glass and that is multi-layered in an effort to reduce the rate of reflection that could eventually distort the quality of your view. This lens comes with a diameter of 20mm which offers a decently wide field of view. For top notch accuracy, this scope is made to be non-parallax, a characteristic that makes certain that your view is not distorted in any way. Additionally, you will receive unlimited eye relief so that, no matter where the scope is placed on the rifle, you get to enjoy the same accuracy.

On the other hand, the Holosun HS403R comes in as a small rifle that is also made for carbide and rifle applications. Much like its counterpart, it comes with a glass lens that is of high quality and that is able to facilitate an unobstructed view no matter how much light you experience. In addition, it is made to have minimal parallax, a characteristic that further adds to the clarity and accuracy of your target. With its unlimited eye relief, your target will remain in focus from whichever position your scope is set.

Since both scopes bear similar characteristics in this section, they are placed on equal footing.

Overall Performance

Both the Holosun HS403B and the Holosun Hs403R are intended for use in medium and short range settings. What stands out about them, however, is their ability to operate over multiple environments.

The Holosun HS403B comes with a 2 MOA red dot ideal for a range of approximately 100 yards. In addition, it comes with 12 brightness adjustment levels, offering a total of 10 for use during the day. Two of the 12 are made for night use, and for his reason, they are able to support Night mode.

Comparably, the Holosun HS403R also comes with a 2 MOA red dot that is also made for a range that spans 100 yards. For brightness settings, this riflescope presents up to 10brightness adjustment levels. Two of these are made for areas with extremely low lighting, making them ideal for use during the night. This feature ensures that you can go hunting round the clock without having to worry.

Since the Holosun HS403B comes with more brightness adjustment settings, it makes a better scope than the Holosun HS403R scope.

Riflescopes often times have to withstand a great deal of force and impact, and for this reason, it is imperative that they be constructed using hardy material for longevity.

This is why the Holosun HS403B is made using aircraft grade aluminum which is quite hardy. This makes the scope able to handle extreme impact without shattering, and without causing the glass lens to break. Additionally, it is able to withstand many rounds of recoil at a go while still maintaining its integrity. Since this scope is made to be used in multiple environments, it is made to be water and dust proof. In addition, the O-rings are hydrogen flushed to make certain that it does not fog from the inside, allowing for clear vision all through.

The Holosun HS403R follows suit in similar fashion, boasting an aircraft grade aluminum build. This way, heavy impact and recoil pose very little threat, and it is able to maintain integrity gracefully. Just like its counterpart, it is water and dust proof, and being that it is hydrogen flushed, it is able to resist fogging from the inside over a long period of time.

Both scopes have the same physical features, setting them on equal footing.

Battery Life

For persons who are in the wild for long periods at a time, it is important to have a long battery life. This is why, on a brightness level of 6, the Holosun HS403B is able to sustain a 50,000 hour battery life.

On the other hand, the Holosun HS403R boasts a 100,000 hour battery over a brightness setting of 6. This gives it a good deal of battery life, and you could go years without having to worry about it.

The Holosun HS403R comes with twice as much battery life as the Holosun HS403B, making it the better scope of the two.
