Vortex diamondback vs. Crossfire ii – How do they compare?

The Crossfire II scopes are available in a variety of magnifications starting with the 1-4X to the 6-24X50. Some of the scopes are available in 1 inch tubes and others in 30mm. The objective lens starts at 24mm all the way to 56mm. The diamondback scopes start from 1.75X-5 to 4-12X. All the scopes come in 1 inch tubes and you will have the objective lens starting from 32mm to 50mm. What this means is if you are looking for a 30mm you can only get it through the crossfire II.

Glass quality and reticle options

The glass design is almost similar for both scopes. You have O-rings adorning the tubes to keep the scope weather resistant and fog proof. You also have the scopes nitrogen purged. However, a closer observation of the glasses will reveal that the glass quality is a bit different with the diamondback having a more clearer glass.

You get two reticle options with the scopes – deadhold BDC and V-Plex. The other key difference is that you will have some of the crossfire II models having the illuminated reticles while none are available for the diamondback.

Eye relief

The eye relief on both scopes varies with the crossfire II coming in at 3” to 3.2”. The diamondback has an eye relief of 3.1”. In fact some crossfire models actually boast of an eye relief of 3.5” to 4”. In this section, the crossfire II is better as it offers a more forgiving eye relief.
