The Leupold VX2 is an upgrade to the VX1. It features better coatings but the basic design of the rifle is still the same. If you are confused as to whether to upgrade your VX1 scope this review gives you important tips
Purchasing the wrong scope will cost you dearly when it comes to hunting in the wild. A riflescope works like this miniature telescope that magnifies far away objects. With the scope you can sneak in no a target then carefully aim your rifle for the perfect shot. However, choosing the right scope is not that straightforward with so many brands available in the market.
Leupold has been in the market for over a century. Over the years, they have had time to fine tune their scopes into world class objects. In this category, we have the VX line of scopes and in this review we check out their VX1 and VX2.

VX1 vs. VX2 – How do they compare?
Coatings
One clear visible difference between the VX1 and VX2 is that the former uses multi-coat 4 lens coatings while the VX2 uses new index matched lens coatings. The VX2 more refined edges means you can shoot for some few more minutes during dusk and dawn. The CDS system is only available in the VX2 and not the VX1. Lastly, you do get a fast focus eye piece in the VX2 which lacks in the VX1. You will find O-rings on both scopes and this helps keep the scope fog proof and free from weather elements. The VX2 cool upgrades means it transmits light better than the VX1.
Design
The Leupold scopes come with the diamondcoat lens coatings that ensure minimal abrasion even under intensive use. You also get the exclusive Leupold index matched lens system that ensures sharp resolutions and exceptional brightness. The Leupold VX1 probably due to its age is heavier than the VX2 and this means you are loading more weight to your rifle during hunts. Both of the scopes are waterproof, and fog proof. You also get the same ¼ MOA precision finger click adjustments. On design the Leupold VX2 is slightly lighter hence making it more ideal for carrying around.
