The VX3i comes with slightly better lenses and coatings than the VX-freedom. It is lighter than the VX-freedom and you get a variety of magnification ranges. The VX freedom is available in different magnification ranges from the 1.5-4X20, 2-7X33, 3-9X40, 3-9X50, and 4-12X40mm. All the scopes come with Second focal plane reticles that means even when you dial the magnification up or down the reticle remains the same size. Some later Leupold added a 3-9X33mm scope with extended focus range. The fine duplex reticle in the scope is ideal for airguns and rimfires. The Leupold VX3i brightness and clarity is better due to its use of Twilight Max light management system. You will have them available in various magnifications: 3.5-10X, 4.5-14 X and 6.5-20 X. You also have various configurations like 40mm or 50mm objective lens, side focus knobs, 1 inch or 30mm tube configurations. The VX3i gives you different reticle options: CDS, wind plex or side focus. If you are planning on doing some long range shooting, then the VX3i 113 MOA elevation adjustment will come in handy.
You can create a custom turret through Leupold CDS system. With the system you will need to supply the company with information like muzzle velocity, bullet type/brand, elevation or ballistic coefficient. VX-freedom – Overview
The Leupold VX-Freedomwas designed as a replacement to the VX-1 and VX-2. Leupold unveiled it in 2018. The scope costs the same as the VX-1 but the glass is like that of the VX-2. The reticle is a second focal plane and the tube is 1-inch in diameter.
You can get the Leupold VX-freedom in various magnification ranges: 1.5-4X20, 2-7X33, 3-9X40, 3-9×50 and the 4-12X40. You also have the scope in various reticle options: Pig-Plex, Duplex, Tri-MOA, and Rimfire MOA.
